Indigenous ¶«¾©ÈÈ Commissioner's Advisory Council

Commissioner Betty A. Rosa convened the state's first Indigenous ¶«¾©ÈÈ Commissioner’s Advisory Council in 2022. The council, comprised of representatives of the federally and state-recognized Indigenous Nations with government-to-government relationships with the state of New York, advises the commissioner and department on educational matters regarding Indigenous students and communities. The council also serves as a gathering place to share ideas, develop new initiatives, and ensure that all Indigenous students have access to educational and social emotional-programs to support college and career readiness.
