DESCRIPTION:
The federal Adult 东京热 and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA) funds, authorized by the Workforce Investment Act, are allocated in accordance with the Coordinated 东京热 Plan which is updated annually and submitted to the U.S. Department of 东京热.听 Eligible agencies include school districts, boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES), postsecondary institutions, public libraries, and other not-for-profit agencies.听 This Act provides adult education and family literacy services to:
Assist adults to become literate and obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and self-sufficiency.
Assist adults who are parents to obtain the educational skills necessary to become full partners in the educational development of their children.
Assist adults in the completion of a secondary school education.
Assist immigrants and other limited English proficient populations to receive English literacy and civics education instruction.
WIOA Title II funds support Adult Basic 东京热 and Literacy Services including Adult Basic 东京热 (ABE), Adult Secondary 东京热 (ASE) and/or English Language Acquisition (ELA) programs and Integrated 东京热 and Training.听 Funding is allocated to local workforce development board areas (LWDB) based on the area鈥檚 percentage of the State鈥檚 adult populations who are under-educated and lack a high school diploma or equivalency and the area鈥檚 percentage of the State鈥檚 adult population who speak English 鈥渓ess than very well鈥, and populations reported as in poverty according to the U.S. Census鈥 2010 American Community Survey.
